... A Golf Club That Puts You "on Course" as Often as You Like
...
The Club originated in 1994 as the Happy hackers
and was formerly
owned and run by Roger Manning,
from Huddle Park Golf Course.
The club started with 16 members and grew to 170
within the first
year of business. Membership continued
to grow and by the end of
1999,
Happy Hackers had a member count of 1300,
at which time, the business was purchased
by MoreGolf.
In June 2001, the business was offered back to Roger,
who then
changed the clubs' name to Social Golf Alliance.
In the course of this
period, Roger pursued Hillside
Golf Course in Pretoria North and
incorporated
SGA memberships with the golf course.
By the end
of December 2006, SGA's offices
were moved from Edenvale to the
premises of
Hillside Golf Course and
due to various business
commitments, Roger decided to down size
and sell the
business in February 2008, to one of his long
standing
employees, Gerda Pool.
Being involved with Social Golf Alliance
since 2001,
Gerda has the required expertise to have taken over
ownership and management of the club.
After the
purchase agreement was concluded, the offices of
Social
Golf Alliance moved back to Johannesburg. |
